We are thrilled to announce the site and dates of the 2023 Nest Invitational Tournament (NIT), the culmination of our 2023 No Laying Up Events Series: The Omni PGA Frisco Resort in Frisco, TX, Thursday November 2nd - Saturday November, 4th. 

The Nest Invitational Tournament is our season-ending invitational and our opportunity to celebrate with the Nest community, sponsors, and the friends we’ve made along the way. 

The field consists of 96 golfers from around the world who qualified at one of the over 30 events throughout our year-long events series. This event brings an eclectic mix of golfers of all abilities and attitudes. 

A three day 54-hole flighted quota competition yields eight flight winners who advance to the championship round. The eight finalists then square off over a final 18 holes of golf for the title while everyone watches on. 

Memories are made a friendships are solidified.

After three years at Jax Beach Golf Club why change the location?

Jax Beach has been a fantastic venue and will always be a home course for NLU. However, as the Nest and NLU Events Series grow we want to elevate the NIT and give attendees a once in a lifetime experience at a future major championship venue befitting the schedule that led up to it. Location is also a big factor. Because the event is in November, weather limits where we can host, and Dallas is a far easier place to get to for nearly all qualifiers than Jacksonville. With Neil in New York, Erin and Randy in Colorado, DJ in Wisconsin, Ben in Kansas, Cody in Texas and Casey in New Jersey, this is true even for us!

The event sounds amazing but it is expensive. Are you concerned that the cost will exclude some NIT qualifiers?

We worked diligently with Omni on keeping the golf/event cost under $1,000 for attendees, and ensure maximum flexibility for people to stay on-site or off. We’ve also subsidized this event to provide participants with an opportunity to play two brand new championship golf courses at a 60% discount. We are also confident that airfare to DFW/DAL will be far cheaper than the options to JAX, not to mention the ease of non-stop flights from virtually everywhere instead of the connections inherent with travel to Jacksonville Beach (not to mention the number of Nest members in Texas and the surrounding region. Lastly, the putting course, short course and other resort amenities will provide immense value over the course of a three-day event. 

How do I qualify for the NIT?

Good question! There are over 30 different NIT qualifying events in 2023. These events are hosted by NLU’s local/regional Roosts, which are a located all over the US, Canada, and the UK. In order to qualify for the NIT you must be a Nest Member in good standing. Any non-Nest Members who win a local qualifier do have the option to sign up for the Nest ($90 annually) and punch their ticket to the grand finale in Frisco. NLU also saves a select number of NIT spots for Nest Members who have added value to the community in various ways throughout the year.

Fields Ranch East draws its style and cues from the surrounding landscape, providing a compelling strategic challenge for all golfers. These organic advantages include rolling topography, dry washes, and the meandering Panther creek. 

Smallish greens with gentle rolls, strong slopes, and false edges place a premium on accurate approach shots. The bunkers are naturally rough-hewn and blend in the surrounding prairie grasses. The fairways use the same grass as the rough, allowing the corridors to be widened or narrowed based on required conditions for championship golf or day-to-day play. Finally, the ribbon tees can be dynamic, providing multiple options and variety for daily course setup. Outside the ropes, there is enough room for spectators typical of championship golf. 

In essence, Fields Ranch East provides strategic variety while incorporating the natural beauty of the property. The result is a championship-level course that will challenge and thrill golfers.

Set among North Texas' rolling hills, Fields Ranch West offers an enjoyable, strategic test of golf. Highlighting the Blackland prairie setting, the course rambles along Frisco's Panther Creek, surrounded by native field grasses, live oaks, and mesquite trees - a true oasis amid the neighboring urban landscape. Featuring more than 75 feet of elevation change, the routing showcases the site's natural character, as well as wetlands that are home to several native species.

The West Course has been strategically routed to support the holistic concept of PGA Frisco, complementing the other golf offerings as a fun, yet challenging golf experience that provides the perfect stage to further your enjoyment and development as a golfer. This course encourages shot-making and creativity from tee to green. The West Course's expansive fairways are approximately 75 yards wide on average to promote enjoyment for golfers of all sill levels.
